A number of Chromebook are two-in-one tablets, so you don’t have access to the keyboard in tablet mode. Don’t worry; there is a simple screenshot short cut that you can use while you are in tablet mode.

  1. Press the on / off and volume buttons simultaneously. The screen registers the screenshot and makes an image of the entire screen.
  2. If you have a special pen that you use in tablet mode, it is possible to make a partial screenshot. This screenshot also all ends up in your Download folder.

Edit screenshots – how do you do this?

You can of course share the screenshots made by Chrome OS with all your contacts. But what should you do now if you want to make another adjustment? In this case you will want to edit your screenshot. Below you will find the step-by-step plan for adjusting and editing all your screenshots:

  • Open the Downloads folder and click twice in a row on your screenshot to open it in the image viewer.
  • Click on the pen icon in the lower right corner of the window to enter edit mode. Tools for cropping, rotation, and brightness adjustments appear at the bottom of the window.
  • When you are finished you have to click on the pen icon again to complete your edits. With the built-in editor it is not possible to save copies, so you will have to copy the image before you adjust it.
